PACKET PICK-UP - SATURDAY, April 17th, 2010
Coaches may pick up packets at the credentials area. Signs will be posted. Wrist bands will be provided for coaches and athletes to obtain admission into the stadium. Only coaches and athletes will be allowed to enter through the participant's gates. Packets and/or wrist bands cannot be obtained unless fees are paid. PACKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 7:00 AM UNTIL 11:00 AM. They will also contain your program and any last minute details.
Athletes Check-in For All Track Events:
Athletes must be at the clerk of the course 30 min. prior to start of their event or they will be scratched. All athletes must remain in the bullpen and will not be permitted to leave the clerk area. No other check in is required. Keep in mind that the meet is subject to a rolling time schedule.
Scratches/Additions:
Any scratches or additions can be made online at ezmeets.com until April 10th, 2010 so we may inform all teams of entry fees, declared athletes and alternates in a timely manner. Contact Jason James (jamesj@esuhsd.org or (408)347-5662) if you have any questions or concerns.
Field Events:
All athletes are to report directly to the field event. IMPLEMENT WEIGH-INS ARE FROM 7:30 AM TO 12:30 PM. 35 degree sectors will be used for the shot put and discus events.
Starting Heights:
Starting heights will be determined after the fields for the high jump and pole vault have been selected. In the throws and long and triple jumps, the fields will be broken down into flights. Each athlete will get 4 attempts. We will measure the first fair mark for each athlete. Subsequent attempts will be measured only if they are equal to or further than the predetermined minimum mark.The throws will be broken down into flights. Each competitor will get 3 throws. The top 8 marks will advance to the finals and competitors will be given 3 more throws. The best throw from the previous 3 throws will count as a farthest throw for each competitor. Long and triple jump competitors will be given 4 jumps and the farthest jump will win. The jumps are only finals.
Time Limit:
The one-minute limit in the field events, one-and-a-half minutes in the pole vault, will be strictly enforced. Only exceptions are obtaining an official's permission to participate in another event and returning within ten minutes of completion of that event.
Starts:
The 800, 1600, 3200 and DMR will be run with a one-turn stagger. Athletes may cut to the pole at the beginning of the backstretch. The starter will explain this at racetime. The 4x400 Relay will be run with a three-turn stagger. Second leg may cut to the pole at the beginning of the backstretch.
Dressing Facilities:
Athletes must be dressed to compete and will be admitted with a coach or a school official only. Restroom facilities will be available. No showers will be available.
Participants:
All participants must remain in the stands or grass area, which is located at the north end of the stadium, during the meet. Warm-up area will be on the grass field outside the stadium (softball field). No warm up will be permitted on the infield or track.
Clerk Of The Course:
The Clerk of the Course is located at the west end of the track, near the 100-meter starting line. All track athletes must be in the clerk area 30 minutes before the event and stay in the bullpen. This is when races will be seeded. All athletes not at the clerk of the course at this time will be scratched.
Uniform Reminder:
Full length jerseys must be worn and track shorts must cover any body suits. Please refer to Rule 4 Section 3 Article 1 of the National Federation Rule Book.
Awards:
There will be no team scoring or team trophies. Custom medals will be awarded to the first 5 places in each event. IN ADDITION, SPECIAL AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO THE FIRST PLACE WINNERS OF OUR FEATURED RACES - 200-METER DASH AND 400-METER HURDLES. Immediately after the results have been announced, awards may be picked up. The awards area will be located in the press box at the top of the home stands. MOST OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO THE MOST OUTSTANDING TRACK PERFORMER AND THE MOST OUTSTANDING FIELD PERFORMER IN THE GIRL'S AND BOY'S VARSITY COMPETITION ONLY. Watches will not be awarded this year. Please accept our apologies for the inadvertant leaving of this award on the site.

The meet will be run rain or shine. The deadline for online entries is April 10th, 2010. All entry fees must be paid BEFORE athletes may compete. THERE WILL BE NO REFUND FOR ENTRIES. All coaches must submit their entries online at www.ezmeets.com.
